The Derbies
📖 How Derby Betting Works▾
- Horse-race pool. Every dollar bet on a derby goes into one pot. Whoever backed the winner splits the whole pot, sized to how much each person bet.
- Odds are live. The X : 1 next to each name moves with every confirmed bet — betting a longshot pays more, the favorite pays less.
- Two pools: the Individual Purple Jacket Derby and the Team Shootout — bet either or both.
- Window opens once all three rounds are scored and the field is locked. Bets are confirmed by the Commissioner once payment lands.
- Example: $200 pot, you bet $20 of the $50 on the winner → you take home $80 (your share of the pot).

EST. 2016It started, as all great institutions do, with a golf trip and a sandwich. On the first tee of the inaugural outing, founder Ryan Eddy — unprompted, unscripted, and entirely serious — announced: "Welcome to the first annual Meatball Parmesan Invitational." The name, borrowed from a $6.95 meatball parm on a deli menu, stuck instantly and permanently.
What began as a buddies' trip is now a traveling championship with a Purple Jacket, a Board of Directors, a derby, flight championships, and a record book — contested annually from New Jersey to Michigan to Myrtle Beach and back.

To gather the finest gentlemen golfers we know for a weekend of fierce-but-friendly competition, questionable swings, honest scorekeeping, and lifelong friendship — and to have a hell of a time while doing it.

Pre-Tournament Futures
📖 How Futures Betting Works▾
- Bet before the tournament on how the weekend plays out — each question below is its own separate pot.
- Horse-race payout. Backers of the correct answer split that question's pot, proportional to their bets. Wrong picks win nothing.
- Separate pools. Each flight winner, the overall individual winner, the overall team winner, and the wildcard each have their own independent pot — money never crosses between questions.
- Live odds update with every confirmed bet. The window closes Thursday at 1:30 PM ET, right before the first shotgun.
- Example: $100 in the "Overall Winner" pot, you bet $25 of the $40 on the winner → you take home $62.50.
